The intergroup on Water is having regular meetings once a month, to discuss about the most relevant issues related to water. In this setion you will find an overview of the meetings and you will be able to download the reports from the meetings.
11th Meeting - 25 January 2012
The 11th meeting of the EP Water Group was dedicated to the EU water policy challenges from the perspective of the Danish presidency. The opening of the meeting was warmly welcomed by the host of the meeting – Mr. Richard SEEBER, the President of EP Water Group. (more)
10th Meeting - 28 November 2011
The 10th meeting of the EP Water Group was dedicated to the EU water policy challenges from the perspective of the polish presidency. The key note speaker was Ms. Adriana Dembowska – Deputy Director of the National Water Management Authority of Poland (representing Polish presidency at the European Council), highlighted the importance of water as linking factor in human activities. 9th Meeting - 19 October 2011
The 9th meeting of the EP Water Group was dedicated to the EU water policy integration into other European policies. The opening of the meeting was warmly done by the Vice-President of the European Parliament Mr. Miguel Angel Martinez Martinez underlining the importance of water for each of us as a matter of our every-day survival, and the challenges the mankind and each of us are tackling when dealing with this subject. 8th Meeting - 30 March 2011
Mr. Jean-Michel COUSTEAU, President of the Green Cross France and Mr. Gábor BARANYAI, Deputy State Secretary of the Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, addressed the attendance to the EP Water Group at its March meeting on the UN Water Courses Convention and the Hungarian Presidency of the EU.
7th Meeting - 08 February 2011
European Commissioner for Regional Policy, Mr. Johannes HAHN, addressed the Intergroup Water at its February meeting on the solutions how to improve the water quality at regional level. The Commissioner presented the investments already done on the water sector, but he acknowledged that further investments in innovation need to be done. (more)
6th Meeting - 27 October 2010
European Commissioner for Climate Action, Ms. Connie HEDEGAARD, addressed the Intergroup Water at its October meeting on the pivotal role water plays in climate change. She underlined that water issues feature in almost all aspects of the EC adaptation policy, like e.g. water scarcity, sanitation, flooding, drainage, water efficiency.(more)
5th Meeting - 30 June 2010
The 5th meeting of the Intergroup on Water was deboted to the challenges between agriculture and water, the common objectives.(more)
4th Meeting - 5 May 2010
European Commissioner for Environment Commissioner, Mr. Janez POTOČNIK, was the key note speaker at 4th meeting the Intergroup Water/ Wasser. Commissioner Potocnik addressed the Intergroup water on the challenges for the EU Water policy. (more)
3rd Meeting - 7 April 2010
The third meeting of the Intergroup Water was dedicated to the perspective of the Spanish Presidency’s perspective on the European Water Policy with a special focus on water scarcity and droughts. Keynote speakers were Ms. Marta MOREN ABAT, General Director responsible for water in the Spanish Ministry of Environment, Agriculture and Rural Development and Mr. Peter GAMMELTOFT, head of the Water Unit at DG Environment. 2nd Meeting - 24 February 2010
The 2nd meeting the Intergroup Water/ Wasser was dedicated to the EU and the Millennium Development Goals on water and sanitation. Key note speakers were Mr. Luis RIERA FIGUERAS, Director of Directorate B in DG Development, and Ms Carla OSORIO Head of the Water and Energy facility in DG AIDCO and replacing Mr. Gary QUINCE.
